Toasted Sesame Green Beans
IMG_0739.JPG

This dish is delightfully different.  It takes the traditional green bean and gives it a twist with a slightly roasted flavor.  Still crisp to the bite, enjoy this crunchy side dish with fish or even beef.

Gather Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of green beans

  • 1 tablespoon of toasted sesame oil

  • 1 tablespoon of black sesame seeds

  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground sea salt

Note: This recipe goes fast so leave it until last when cooking other dishes for your meal.  Also, have all your ingredients prepped and ready to go before heating pan.

  1. Prepare green beans by snapping or trimming off stalky ends.  Place in a colander and rinse well.   Return green beans to a cutting board and cut or snap in half to create bite-sized pieces.  Green beans are now ready to cook.

  2. Next heat 1 tablespoon sesame oil in large skillet or wok on medium-high heat.  When the oil is hot, add the green beans, stirring frequently to cook beans evenly for about 3 minutes.

  3. Add in sesame seeds and salt and stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes.

Note: Get your kids involved.  Have fun with your family and let your children help you snap the green bean ends off.
